Foster Care Goals
The
short-term goal is to meet the physical and emotional needs of
foster children as members of the foster family. This includes
integrating the child into his or her foster home community.
The long-term goal is, whenever possible, reunification with the child's natural parents - ideally occurring within 18 months of placement.
